Korea’s dog meat trade goes way beyond adopting a family member. You are joining a meaningful movement ending this trade. Your voice will speak for these voiceless victims, as your actions raise awareness of this cruel industry and deliver hope for a future that finds ALL dogs living the life they deserve - as humankind’s most loyal friend.
Our work in S. Korea is an ambitious and expensive mission. As a small US based non-profit organization, we rely heavily on adoption fees and donations to keep our life saving operations afloat. The adoption fee helps defray the costs of required up-to-date vaccinations (DHPPL, Rabies, Corona, Parvo and Bordetella), heartworm testing, de-worming, micro-chip, spay/neuter if 6 mos. or older, transportation costs (travelling as excess baggage with a flight volunteer), all required documentation fees including the live animal import clearance custom broker fee (USDA-APHIS) and a 1-year GPS-monitored Fi Collar.
Most our dogs come from barbaric conditions. Many have experienced extreme neglect, abuse, and abandonment. We ask our adopters to take into consideration that pets require a lifelong commitment of 10-15 years. Future life changes such as marriage, divorce, pregnancies, pet friendly rentals, and career changes must be taken into consideration. We are currently adopting dogs only to the southern California area as this is where we are located and can assist if any issues arise.
Please discuss the possibility of adopting a dog with everyone in your home including all family members, significant others, or roommates. We vet our applications thoroughly and strive to place our dogs into permanent, loving homes.
Every dog receives a GPS-monitored Fi Collar. Rescued animals can be a flight risk and from time to time we receive frantic calls from our adopters about their missing dog. This is a nerve-wracking experience for everyone and occasionally ends in tragedy. This will help ensure the safety of your dog as DoVE Project will provide the Fi Collar and 1 year of monitoring.
